Life Coaching

Life Coaching looks towards the future, and setting goals, as opposed to counseling or therapy that delves into past traumas or events. With our one-on-one coaching program, you and/or your young adult can develop the following skills to improve your life and relationships with one another:

  • Improved Focus – Clarify priorities and how to best use time and energy
  • Time Management – capacity to estimate and allocate time limits
  • Emotional Control – manage emotions to achieve goals
  • Empowerment – to realize their own self-worth and create a more fulfilling life
  • Task Initiation – begin and complete projects with efficiency/curb procrastination
  • Together, we identify which areas in life one seeks to improve and establish reasonable goals
  • Each session will build on the previous until ultimately, a transition is established and tasks are completed with ease when they were once a struggle

Keeping in mind, that it is the time in between sessions that the individual must possess the drive and focus to want to change, or grow, in order for true Empowerment to develop. Guidance is facilitated during the sessions to establish a more positive thought process. In essence, it is the shift in thought process combined with the desire to change and challenge oneself that will allow the individual to achieve their specified goals.

Frequently Asked Question

How do you teach life skills to adults with autism?

One way adults with autism have success learning life skills is through the help of a Life Coach. As opposed to counseling or therapy that delves into past traumas or events, life coaching  looks towards the future, and setting goals. Each session is different and geared toward a particular challenge the young adult is experiencing.

I can confidently say that this organization is one of the best places you can sign up with if you are an adult on the spectrum who needs help with developing any kind of area in your life, including: social skills, independent living skills, self-advocacy, job readiness skills and vocational skills, and much more! I have personally seen dozens grow from joining and participating in these programs. In addition, every single staff member—as well as the founder herself—put every fiber of their being towards helping clients and creating a safe, positive environment for everyone.

ASD Adult Achievement Center is truly a remarkable place to work at. There, I've met a lot of people that go through similar challenges that I also face. Here, I've learned all sorts of new techniques that will help more when I'm in a workplace to improve from the struggles that I have been going through and I have made many designs of creativity in the working environment.
