Frequently Asked Questions

One of the most successful social skills programs is called PEERS® developed by Dr. Liz Laugeson out of UCLA.  It is a unique initiative for adults with ASD who are having difficulty with elements of social interaction at home, or school, or work.

During the 14 week course, young adults will improve their social skills by practicing entering and exiting conversations; proper use of electronic forms of communication, including safety suggestions for online dating; choosing appropriate friends; handling arguments and disagreements with friends; having appropriate get-togethers with friends, how to handle peer pressure; and proper dating etiquette.
