Task Masters is a step-by-step group coaching program designed to help adults with ASD develop the necessary executive function skills needed to meet daily responsibilities. Executive functions connect our present choices to future outcomes. They help us manage our time, be productive, plan, organize, and reach goals. Task Masters incorporates a 3 step process to focus on a different executive function skill each week, each skill building on the next to improve self awareness and daily functioning.
Young adults will develop these skills:
Organization āThe ability to create and maintain systems to keep track of information/materials.
TimeĀ Management āThe capacity to estimate how much time one has and how to stay within time limits and deadlines.
Goal-Directed Persistence āThe capacity to have a goal and follow it through to completion.
Stress Tolerance āThe capacity to perform tasks even under stressful conditions.
Emotional ControlĀ -The ability to manage emotions and control/redirect behavior.
Task Initiation āThe ability to begin projects in an efficient or timely fashion. Sustained Attention -The capacity to pay attention to a situation or task.Ā
Planning/PrioritizationĀ -The ability to create a roadmap to reach a goal or to complete a task.
Response Inhibition āThe capacity to think before acting.
Participants must be 18 or older, graduated from high school and motivated to participate.Ā Ā
